Bengal Brain Bonanza: Unleash the Power of Neuroscience!

Shoutout to all Bach Bengals! Join us for an exciting, hands-on event as part of International Brain Awareness Week. Students and their families are invited to explore brain science with hands-on activities, real neuron experiments, and creative fun. From controlling a robotic claw with your muscles to making neuron art, there will be surprises at every turn! Don’t miss this amazing chance to learn, discover, and experience the brain in action. We can’t wait to see you there!

Date: March 13, 2025
Time: 5 PM – 8PM
Location: Bach Elementary School

This fun-filled event will give you the chance to:

Listen to real neuron activity in this fascinating interactive exhibit! Using cutting-edge technology, you’ll hear the electrical signals that neurons generate in real-time. Explore how these tiny impulses power our thoughts, movements, and sensations. It’s a unique opportunity to experience the inner workings of the brain in action!

Learn how fast are your reactions! In this exciting activity you’ll test your reflexes and see if you’re quicker than your classmates! Does it matter if you’re reacting to what you see or hear? Challenge yourself to discover whether sight or sound makes a difference in your speed. Who will come out on top? Try it and see!

Become a cyborg for the day! Using the electrical signals from your own muscles, you’ll take control of a robotic claw and make it move with your arm flexes. As your muscles get tired, you’ll notice changes in how well you can control the claw, teaching you how muscle fatigue affects the communication between your brain and body. It’s an exciting, hands-on way to explore neuroscience and feel like a real-life cyborg!

Control someone else’s arm! With our Human-Human Interface (HHI), your brain sends signals to your muscles to move. But with this cool activity, we can send those signals from your brain to someone else’s muscles! That’s right—your brain will make their arm move! It’s totally safe and super fun, and you’ll feel like a real-life brain controller.

Create your own neuron art and discover how brain cells communicate to control everything we do. You’ll have the chance to build a model of the sciatic nerve, the longest nerve in the body, and learn how it connects the brain to our muscles. As you craft, you’ll explore how neurons send electrical signals that help us move, feel, and react. It’s the perfect blend of art and science—come make your own masterpiece while learning about the wonders of the nervous system!

Get ready for a day filled with scientific wonders and magic, where the brain is the true star. Come and join the adventure!
